HOUSE RULES

Intro to House Rules

At The Bridge, we want everyone to feel welcome, comfortable, and safe.

Our house rules are there to help us create a friendly and respectful environment for all our guests, volunteers, and visitors. We kindly ask you to respect these simple rules during your stay.

Thank you for helping us make The Bridge a home away from home for everyone.

To ensure a welcoming and respectful environment for everyone, we kindly ask you to respect our local customs, our staff, and the following house rules.

Dutch law applies at all times.

We make this work by:

  • We respect each other’s culture, nationality, religion, gender, etc.
  • We stay clear of weapons and drugs.
  • Smoking is only allowed outside the building. Cigarette butts are put in the DROPPIT next to the benches.
  • We are allowed to have low alcohol drinks (e.g., a beer that is self-bought from the supermarket) inside the building, with a maximum of 2-3 drinks.
  • Outside, we drink non-alcoholic drinks like coffee, tea, or soft drinks.
  • Theft will be reported to the police
  • Clothes and hats can be obtained for a small donation, up to a maximum of two pieces per seafarer.
  • Free lockers for your shopping bags are available. Please return the locker key before you leave our club.
  • During our free bus pickup service, refrain from smoking, drinking, and eating.
  • ISC The Bridge is not responsible for theft or pickpocketing, nor for any other damage you might experience.
  • To return to your ship, carrying your original passport and the crew list is strictly required in order to have unhindered access to the terminal on your return.
  • In case of emergencies, we follow the instructions of the staff of The Bridge.
  • In case of violation of these rules, the staff will have the authority to remove you from the ISC and order a taxi to take you back to your vessel at your own expense.

Want to be part of our mission?

There are many ways to be part of The Bridge. You can join us as a volunteer, become a partner, support one of our activities or contribute to our work in another way.

Whatever your contribution, together we can make a meaningful difference for seafarers visiting the Port of Rotterdam.

Join us and help make The Bridge a home away from home.

Excellent warm place. A word of praise for the people running the place and providing selfless service.
A must visit for all seafarers when in Rotterdam .
